Enjoying the Present

Hi all!

I hope everyone out there is having an amazing week. I am currently on “study” holiday from Uni for 2 weeks… I have quite a lot of work to do but it is almost impossible to motivate myself in a period of time that has the word “holiday” attached to it. Just don’t give me a holiday. I can’t handle the responsibility of self-motivation. In the spirit of trying to get something done tomorrow I’m heading into Uni to force myself to get in the mood for study (if that is actually possible). It helps that my mum works at the university so a trip to Uni means a cup of tea with her as well!

Albums of August

Hi All!

Well August is coming to a close and I thought I would do a favorite albums of the month that I have been listening to and loving! Just a little warning…I listen to a rather wide variety of music genres (very wide some might say) and I am terrible at classifying music! So bear with me haha! Also these are in no particular order.

What made me smile…

Hi All!

After a hectic weekend I am afraid posting on Saturday and Sunday did not happen! This “what made me smile” post is technically supposed to be a Sunday thing where I can look back on the week and think about some of the things that happened so lets just pretend it’s not yet Monday…

This week was challenging in terms of the work at University but I made it through the week and managed to avoid any breakdowns (pat on the back!). Amongst the chaos of Uni there was, as always, things in life that were good and things that brought a smile to my face!

My 10 Autumn/Winter Nail Polish Favorites

Hi all!

So this afternoon was the first time in a what feels like forever that I could have a break from university work. After the first 6 weeks of the semester we now get a two week study break and after handing in my 2 assignments today I gave myself the afternoon to relax, watch some America’s Next Top Model (another guilty secret) and put this blog post together. In New Zealand we are slowly coming out of the Winter season so I wanted to put up my 10 favorite nail polishes that I have been loving over Autumn (Fall) and Winter this year. In the future I shall try to put up my nail polish season favorites before the season begins.. Let’s get straight into it!

Surviving Stress

Hey Guys,

A really quick post today as I have two assignments that are due tomorrow that are finished but so terribly done that a lot of reworking needs to occur and in a miracle amount of time! I thought this may be an appropriate time to throw up some of the tips I have for how I survive the stress of study.

Easy Banana and Chocolate Chip Muffins

I have just had a test for my Psychology research methods so I thought in my brief respite from study I would quickly throw up this recipe that I made last weekend.

These banana choc chip muffins are my absolute favorite as they are incredibly easy and come out moist and tasty every time! I must admit I am not entirely sure where the original banana muffin recipe came from, my little brother brought the recipe home from Kindergarten one day and they have been made multiple times since then with the occasional addition of choc chips (my favorite!). This is a great recipe to make with Kids as it isn’t to complicated and there are lots of opportunities for them to do some measuring and mixing.

5 Winter Essentials

For New Zealand this winter has been wet and pretty miserable (for me at least) but thankfully spring is around the corner and that means pastel colours and *hopefully* a little less rain. These are some of the products that I have been reaching for this winter.

1. The Body Shop Body Butter in Candied GingerImage

This stuff is like heaven in the winter! I got this for half price ($20 NZ) as I assume it was part of their Christmas stock but in NZ Christmas is in the summer and I think this is much more appropriate for the winter time! The scent firstly is incredible…makes me smell like sweet ginger bread. The cream itself is thick and highly moisturizing (like most of their body butters) and thus I tended to use it more at night time before bed but it wouldn’t be too greasy for the daytime in Winter (in my opinion). I have dry and sensitive skin and this didn’t cause any irritation and did a great job at preventing dryness.
